How to Legitimately make good revenue from Domains and Websites. We are
going to discuss our money making secrets and how we succeed every month in
generating over 25,000.00 per month in revenue from our domain portfolio. We own
just under 1000 domain names and we currently operate approx 200 of these domain
names in various forms of websites. We have everything from mini sites that are
targeted towards specific keywords and we also have full blown websites that
contain over 2500 relevant pages in each site. Our objective is to share with
you what we have been able to accomplish with our domain names and websites.
Everything we do follows the guidelines and Terms of Service with all our
partnering websites. A partner website is considered any company that pays us
revenue for sending our visitors to there service. These services are seen on
this website every ad that is displayed on this site is a partner of ours and
whenever someone visits a site such as this one and clicks on any ad this could
generate revenue for us. And the same can be said for any purchases that are
made through any of our affiliate partners. First we will share our secrets that
have made our domain PPC successful.
How to make revenue from a domain name that is parked at a PPC program.
To start this section off we live by a few simple rules, And we have
implemented these rules through our experiences.
Rule # 1 always buy the .com version of a domain name. #2 Never step on
anyone else's toes ( Stay away from trademarks. Rule # 3 only keep domains that
have proven high dollar values in PPC programs. Rule #4 Never send out any
emails. By following our own rules we will now share with you some techniques
that make our portfolio successful.
We always diversify our portfolio meaning we never consolidate all our PPC
domain into one PPC program we will use all the various PPC programs that are
available. Some are much better than others.
PPC programs only pay you for generic traffic this means that they will only
pay you if a visitor has landed on the page from either typing in your URL into
their browser, A search Engine result or a link from an outside website. So
these options give you a lot of latitude to generate traffic, I always read in
various domain forums that someone has purchased a domain name thinking it would
be an instant success in generating traffic. With so many websites out there the
chances of this happening are very slim. But you can make these domain
successful by following some of our guideline we implement.
OK onto our secrets.
Within our portfolio of websites we have many targeted websites that generate
allot of generic traffic from search engines, This means people use search
engines everyday for various topics we make sure our websites are optimized to
show up in these results. We also include on every one of our websites a page
that contains every domain name we own with a brief description pertaining to
that domain and a link ( THESE DOMAINS NOW GET INDEXED INTO SEARCH ENGINES) and
they will now display in the search engine results and when a person click on
this result they will be directed to our parked page that ironically will
display relevant results for what they are searching for.
We utilize sites like EBay we have several people working for us that when
they purchase or sell anything via eBay they are allowed to leave user feedback
they include a domain name within that feedback there is no link but people will
almost certainly type that domain into their browser to see what it is, Its
human nature.
Whenever we join any website for amusement we always sign up using one of our
domain names as our username, i.e.: PokerStars username
www.nictips.com and sites like this always
show your location on hover over we place
www.nictips.com as our location, Again human nature people will go to that
domain because they have to see what its about. And we will leave that user set
at many tables for days maximum exposure. Have your friends and co-workers also
participate. My son stays online from after school until bedtime and he uses a
domain name of mine for his MSN name.
When we use penny PPC advertising we never advertise a parked domain name but
we will advertise the page within one of our websites that contain a list of all
our domains in our portfolio i.e.: penny PPC at stormpay called stormclix
On some of our forum websites we own we never advertise outside websites we
will only advertise our internally owned websites and again point ads to the
pages that contain our domain portfolio.
On the odd occasion when joining any forum we almost always include one or
two domains in our signature and when joining forums always have a few related
topics available to start a new thread and a few responses. By doing this you
have just included valuable links to your domain for search engines and pagerank
as well as exposure to your domain.
Use call in radio shows to your advantage and whenever your on the air slip
in one of your domain names this gets you 1000's of visitors very quickly.
Enter every chat room as a domain name and just sit there the username is
visible to all users and you never have to say a word, This helps if you have
many computers at your disposal.
Buying Domain Names
We focus our portfolio in three categories and we only include two of these
categories as our money making domains. Category number one ( Domains that have
been developed into websites) Category number two ( Domains that are Parked )
and then there is category number three my personal favorite. I am constantly
buying domains one way or another if I am buying an existing domain I will focus
on buying domains two ways one the cheapies and two the premium's when buying
the cheapies and they are available focus on domains that are under 2.00 these
are readily available at any forum use focus on names that have been in
existence for a few months or even some times you get lucky and get some that
have been registered for a few years, take these domains and use them to feed
your money making portfolio pages on your websites. When your buying the
premiums i.e.; LLL.com LL.net LN.net always send these to a PPC service and
always I mean Always use the highest paying keywords when your optimizing these
with these services who says whatever LLL domain you have cannot stand for
MORTGAGES, LOANS, CRUISES ect. You have to remember a few things with any 3
letter domain people always type in acronyms first when they are unsure of
spelling ect and you have thousands of people that think that 3 letter domain
are still available for registration but they will type a 3 letter into there
browser first to see if a website comes up.
If you are planning on buying a fresh domain from a registrar do some
research before your purchase i.e.: use Google and do a search for
site:nictips.com use whatever your planning on registering in place of NICtips
this will show you if there is any links in there results secondly do another
search for NICtips and then nic tips you may be surprised to find that this term
may have been in existence previously and other sites still contain a link to
this domain. I know myself that I have never deleted a domain that I have linked
too on any of my sites, Why bother I have many other things to do and some lazy
webmasters are just to lazy. So you get a bonus.
Always try to keep your registrations as short as possible and when you do
finally purchase your domain name I advise you to do the following buy every
possible typo you can think of and redirect these to your website, If your going
to put in many hours of hard work why risk it to allow someone else to register
your domains typos.
This brings us to typo domains a misspelled domain name NEVER buy anything
but a .com version or the ccTLD. NEVER bother with trademarked typos they will
just cause you headaches in the long run. Stick to generic words and phrases an
example would be www.google.com is a
trademarked domain name and they always vigorously defend there brand name so
don't register www.gllgle.com its a waste of
money that could be better spent on something that will benefit your wallet when
people are looking for a specific site like Google they want Google for a reason
thus they will not click on any ads that may be shown at a PPC service, However
if they were intending on going to
www.realestate.com and they mis-typed
www.reslstate.com and your PPC showed relevant real estate links your
chances of them clicking an ad have jumped dramatically. Use your common sense
when your buying typos.
Mini Sites Keyword Targeted
many of you own domains that are making little or no revenue otherwise you
wouldn't still be reading this. I advise you to make a mini site for every 10
domains you purchase or that's in your portfolio. A mini site is one which is
encompassing the domain you own for example you own the domain name
www.keywordenrichedwebsites.com
but it has no traffic take the time to build a small site that is relevant to
the domain in question include various pages that outline your topic and place
ad's on this site like the ones we use here Yahoo has a great program, Google
has adsense but that's a whole other article. And remember when you upload your
minisite to include a site map and a page of all the domains you own with their
brief description. The ads will send your visitors to an outside source but you
get paid. When building a mini site never use templates targeted at these PPC ad
programs why you ask? I'm glad you did. The content has been used by thousands
of people hoping for the exact same thing you are and search engines will just
ignore your site the only thing your going to do is help out the person you
bought it from because they almost always make you keep a link to their site in
the template. Just build a site yourself with fresh content. It only takes a
little time and the more time you invest in your portfolio the more your
portfolio will benefit you.
Our success's with full blown website's
We also implement a few basic rules when building a full blown website first
rule always make sure your domain is registered for at least 5 years, Secondly a
minimum of 2500 pages and always list each page in your site map.
When choosing this route gather as much information as you can about your
subject. Then once you have all your information you must break it down into
categories always use folders when building your website and use keyword
enriched folder names. Spend allot of time on these sites as these are what is
going to bring you in the money. Always place ads on every page and utilize
every pertinent affiliate program you can. Get your website online and never use
search engine submission programs or companies they will just rip you off a
simple link in a forum signature will be enough for your site to get indexed by
search engines, Make sure you have optimized your site to the best of your
ability and then promote your site in various forums, Ask for people to critique
your site or do a link exchange ( not one of my favorites. As I do not have my
sites exchanging links with any other sites but my own) Use your own nameservers
and get a separate hosting service for these sites.
One of the best ways to promote your sites and domains at no cost to you is
by using googles blogger to your advantage if you have read this far this is
probably the best tip I can give you and you deserve it for reading this far.
Set up several free blogger accounts and write a short description and place
only your links in the Blog. The next best tip is to also use googles groups set
up hundreds of separate groups and in each one write an article and again
include all your links. The last tip I have for you is when you are building a
full blown website include as many pictures as you can and name these pictures
accordingly i.e.: photo of Christmas from your digital camera will show up on
your computer as img2374893 NEVER use that rename it to describe the picture
mom-and-dad-at-christmas,jpg this will allow search engines to index this
picture for all the keywords you have used.
